Progress in renovating the dollhouse
The Del Prado dollhouse is going well. I've been crafting a lot lately, I really love it. I've also taken lots of photos, most of which I've posted on Instagram. Lately, I've been constantly torn between my dollhouse hobby and the webshop. November and December were quite busy: with the webshop and with the transition to my new job. Both were very positive developments, but they made me realize two things: I missed crafting, and I missed writing about crafting. So I started a new dollhouse project; see also the... Read more...
Over schattig gesproken....
Speaking of cute...
I have a new addiction... (I often tend to get completely stuck on something after discovering it.) It's really adorable, and it's called "Maileg." It's a Danish brand, and they... Read more...
Funny
I recently came across this one in the attic... The bottom one, of course, because the top one is a Maileg hedgehog. What's so funny about it, I think, is that I made the bottom one. I think that was about 10 years ago. I think it looks so much like the Maileg one! Was I already subconsciously inspired by them back then...? I came across this at the thrift store this week and couldn't resist... I'm thinking of turning it into a pastry cart with the rabbits and mice!... Read more...
Mini, mini, mini bottle!
Actually, I wanted to crochet a bottle and the tip, the teat as it were, should have been yellow... Crocheting is not my strong point, at least not when it has to be a specific shape and I didn't have any yellow at home 🙂 But both husband and children immediately saw what it was supposed to represent, so I say: approved! The result: the wrap and the hare
As promised, pictures of the two things I made last week. I have to admit, making the bias tape around the micro Maileg bunny's towel was quite a challenge...not my finest work either. The mini bunny is from a homemade pattern. I made a pair of underwear to go with it, which can also be removed. I ordered some nice thin Velcro online, which would be great for using with those little clothes. How many inhabitants should actually be in the house? Maybe it would be fun to throw in... New resident...
A bit busy this week, but I did manage to finish a new resident for the dollhouse! It's a big sister bunny, including a lovely set of underwear... photos coming soon! Read more...
365 days project
Should I do it, or shouldn't I? I've been thinking for a while about participating in the 365-day project. This involves coming up with something to do and then doing it every day of the year. For me, this would be the motivation to actually make things. I make things occasionally, but I'd like to do it much more often. It gives me a certain satisfaction and joy. Right now, it often gets stuck at the "thinking about it," and the actual execution usually takes a back seat. I have... Read more...
Mini wigwam
I came across this mini wigwam for the Maileg bunnies on Pinterest on this blog : I think it's so cute and adorable! A while back, I found a fabric on the Stoffenkraam website that's pretty similar to the one in the photo. It had been waiting for a while, but first I had to finish some other things. It was supposed to be a Christmas present, but unfortunately, that didn't quite work out. This is the final result. Read more...
Castle of dust
Well, it was quite a job, but the princess's bed is finished. Because I wanted to give it as a Sinterklaas gift, it also had to be beautifully wrapped: a castle! I knew what I was doing, and I think it was an even bigger job! Based on the instructions in this blog post , this is the result. Read more...
Princess and the Pea
Once upon a time, there was a prince who was looking for a princess. He couldn't find one anywhere, until one stormy night, a girl knocked on his door, seeking shelter. She said she was a princess...yes, thought the queen, we'll see! She made up the four-poster bed with twenty mattresses and twenty blankets, and hid a pea between them. A real princess is so sensitive that she doesn't sleep a wink, thought the queen. When the princess appeared at breakfast the next day, she didn't look particularly rested...I didn't... Read more...
Tutorial: A Maileg rabbit diy
There it is, my first homemade Maileg bunny. I'm happy with the end result. It's based on a 23cm bunny. The first resident for the large dollhouse. I thought it best not to start too small, because how to make the micro... I have no idea! Below, I'll explain how I made this one, the mini. First, I made my own pattern. I think this bunny is a bit thinner than the real one, but I don't mind. Then I placed the pattern pieces on the fabric and roughly cut... Read more...

Tutorial: Butterflies on the wall
It took a fair amount of patience, but the result is impressive, if I do say so myself. I estimate there are about 250 butterflies in the heart. Instructions: First,... Read more...
