Ready for takeoff, see you next year! And we're flying into the new year, the year 2024! And this year we're doing it again with our homemade airplane for the cool Maileg mouse :). I posted this photo on Instagram sometime ago, and it's getting shared everywhere, so I thought it was high time I made a template of the airplane. Right?
Making the airplane is actually quite simple. Here's what you need:
- Template 'Airplane Maileg Mouse'
- Cardboard
- Pen/fineliner
- Ruler
- Pair of scissors
- Hobby knife
- Hobby glue
- Split pin
Print out the template and cut out all the parts. Trace the patterns onto the cardboard and cut everything out. You can decorate everything with lines, flowers, stars, or colors if desired. Use the craft knife to cut out slits in the cardboard and fold the folds (depending on the thickness of the cardboard, you may want to score them first). Make a hole for the propeller. Apply some glue to the folded parts and tape them in place; you now have a sort of box. Add some glue to the slits and slide the wings into the slot on either side and the tail into the slot in the back. Now insert a split pin into the propeller and then insert it through the hole in the box. Fold the legs over to the sides. Place the tail section on the tail, and your airplane is ready.
