Maileg Mouse Sizes
Maileg mice come in four different sizes: Father and Mother, Big Brother and Sister, Little Brother and Sister, and Baby mice.
Father and Mother are approximately 15 cm tall.
Big Brother and Sister are approximately 13 cm tall.
Little Brother and Sister are approximately 11 cm tall.
Baby mice are approximately 8 cm tall.
Maileg also refers to the brother and sister mice as 'Micro' size and the baby mice as 'My' size.

Then there are also the mice with a small magnet in their hands. This is handy because they can then hold onto something made of metal. They can also cutely clasp their hands together and hold, for example, a flower. Examples of these mice are the walking/hiker mice who can then hold their sticks for the campfire and the tricycle mice who can hold the handlebars of their bike. The mice with magnets are becoming increasingly popular, but not all mice have a magnet. That's why I've created a special page with all the mice that have magnets in their hands.

Maileg Furniture
Maileg furniture also comes in My size and Micro size. The baby mice and My size bunnies fit in the My size furniture. The brother and sister mice, both big and small, fit with the micro size furniture, and sometimes father and mother also fit, but not always. Nowadays, Maileg has made it a bit easier by indicating that they made the item for mice.
There is also the Mini or 'miniature' size. This size is suitable for Teddies and bunnies of size 1 & 2. Mini or miniature furniture is much larger than the My and Micro furniture and is really only suitable for large dollhouses such as Maileg's House. They are made for bunnies around 22 cm (size 1). Because Skattich wants to focus on the world of mice and everything around it, we only offer furniture that is suitable for mice. We still have a few larger items on sale or in the regular assortment because they go very well with the mice. Because, hey, a child generally doesn't care if it's not entirely 'correct'. In this case, this will be explicitly stated.
In general, furniture in Mouse, My, and Micro sizes fit in a standard dollhouse with a 1:12 scale (standard dollhouse ratio), in the Ikea Flisat dollhouse, in the Maileg castle, and the Maileg hall. If you have a larger dollhouse because you found it beautiful and came across it on Marktplaats, that can also work perfectly! That's why the Maileg dollhouse, the House of Miniatures, can also be perfectly used with only the mice and furniture. More on dollhouses later.

Maileg accessories
Maileg accessories are generally larger than 1:12 because Maileg has made them safe for younger children to play with. Personally, I find the combination with slightly larger accessories, such as the somewhat oversized teacups and teapot, really fits the mouse world. If you really want smaller accessories or are looking for something Maileg doesn't have in its assortment, take a look at our own Skattich accessories. Read more about this below.
Small Maileg accessories
As I mentioned earlier, Skattich only has items in the shop that go perfectly with the Maileg mouse world in your mouse house, or dolls the size of the mice in your dollhouse. To show which small accessories Maileg currently has available, I have made an overview of all these small items. Some items, such as the toaster with bread, are available separately, and some belong to a set, such as the eggs in the stove set and the teapots in the tea set. And there are so many of them and each one is so cute!
Clothing for Maileg mice
There are many clothes and outfits for big brothers and sisters, and in the new collection also for little brothers and sisters. Generally, they cannot wear each other's clothes.
But big brothers and sisters can share clothes with micro rabbits and bunnies, as they are roughly the same size.
Father and Mother (and Grandpa and Grandma) mice have their own collection of 'dad & mom' tailored clothing.
Skattich clothing
We also make clothes for the Maileg mice ourselves, such as knitted dresses, mermaid tails, and bunny ears. For these clothes, it is always clearly indicated for which mouse it is intended.
Combination with Skattich furniture and accessories
At Skattich, we not only have furniture and accessories from Maileg but also others. These are sometimes products from our own studio and sometimes purchased. All these furniture pieces and accessories have not been tested for safety in use as toys. This means that they must always be handled under supervision and carefully. These Skattich furniture and accessories have all been carefully selected to match the Maileg mouse world. Some will be perfectly proportioned, but others may be slightly larger or smaller. Generally, this is indicated for each individual item, so always pay close attention to the dimensions and, if necessary, recreate it with blocks or boxes. The materials also fit the Maileg mouse world, so the items are made of wood or metal, polyresin or clay. Plastic is only used where necessary (windows in cabinets, faucets, etc).

Maileg and dollhouses
Can the mice fit in a standard dollhouse? Yes, they can. I won't go into detail here, as I've written many blogs about it, which I'd be happy to refer you to (see blog in the main menu on the homepage). I sometimes hear that people find the Father and Mother Mice actually too big for a standard dollhouse, such as the Plantoys dollhouse you see in the photo here. Personally, I don't, but that's also a matter of taste. They then make the big brother and sister the parents. This is certainly possible, but it takes away the idea of the mice looking older and wearing different kinds of clothes. Whether Maileg furniture fits in a standard dollhouse cannot be answered with a single word. This depends on taste and the size of the rooms. So... always look closely at the dimensions and photos.
Then you have the larger dollhouse and the Maileg miniature house. This can also be perfectly furnished with mice and their belongings.
The Maileg castle is unfortunately no longer available, but it's actually just like a standard dollhouse, but narrow. This means less can fit in, but they are truly wonderful for reenacting fairy tales and royal adventures!
The Ikea Flisat dollhouse is super handy and fun to set up as a mouse house. It's especially nice to start with so you can also see how it works out and if it's played with. You can also give the house a different theme or redecorate it anytime you want!
