I recently mentioned my bid on Marktplaats for a Maileg folding bench... unfortunately, it didn't go through. I offered the asking price by email, but apparently I wasn't the only one, so the seller decided to set a new (read: higher) asking price. She could have asked me in an email, but I think that would have been too much trouble. I can get incredibly annoyed by the way some people act on Marktplaats, so as far as I was concerned, it was game over. So I kept searching, and that's what I found: these truly adorable little pieces of furniture.
And, to let you know that there are also people who do know how Marktplaats works, the way it should: I email a proposal, the seller indicates that he is considering a slightly higher price, I agree.
No sooner said than done, within two days (so quickly!) I've made six pieces of furniture for the "big dollhouse" in a 1:6 ratio. This is the same ratio as Barbie dolls. It seems like a good ratio for a two-year-old girl, and not too small to make all sorts of things for. Because it's getting a bit complicated, I'll call this dollhouse "the Maileg house" from now on, since I've found so many fun things from that brand online and on Pinterest to recreate! I've now discovered that the Maileg rabbits and mice are Tilda-style (and ta-da...another new addiction :)).
So I want to use Tilda fabrics for the clothes, blankets, pillows, etc. I also want to recreate some Maileg furniture and maybe buy some other things. I'm going to refurbish the Marktplaats furniture and paint it in pastel colors. It might be a shame, but they do look very worn and are missing something here and there. Besides, I'm not crazy about everything being blue.
